CODE OF CONDUCT

LS18 Rocks Code of Conduct for musicians, staff and families

  • All musicians, staff, volunteers, families and supporters will:
  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person within the context of making music.
  • Be open, welcoming and inclusive of everyone in your group or activity.
  • Encourage each other at all times: listen to, recognise and respect everyone’s ideas, contributions and talents.
  • Treat everyone equally and not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, disability, race, ethnic origin, nationality, colour, parental status, religious belief, class or social background, sexual preference or political belief.
  • Use language appropriate to the above at all times.
  • Not condone, or allow to go unchallenged, any form of discrimination if witnessed.
  • Display high standards of behaviour at all times, whether during rehearsal, tuition, performance or during breaks.
  • Respect all premises and equipment at all times, regardless of where or whose property they are.
  • Recognise that the well-being and safety of musicians is more important than the development of skills.
  • Not smoke, drink alcohol or used banned substances whilst teaching, facilitating workshops or chaperoning at LS18 Rocks events.
